The Club's Journey Over the Years

2015 — Founding of the Club

Baschet Petras Sports Club was founded in Iași, born out of a group of basketball enthusiasts' desire to give the city's children a properly organized, professional environment for playing the sport. The first youth groups were formed within the very first year, laying the groundwork for a philosophy centered on individual technical development, discipline, and team spirit. Training sessions initially ran on modest resources, but with a determination that would go on to define the club's identity in the years to follow: building a generation of athletes raised "at home," from an early age all the way to performance level.

2018 — Expansion to Piatra Neamț

Three years later, Baschet Petras took an important step in its development: the club's activity expanded into Piatra Neamț, opening its doors to a new generation of children eager to learn the game. This expansion marked a significant increase in the number of registered athletes and established the club as one of the core structures of youth basketball in the Moldova region. The new branch brought investments in coaching staff, training facilities, and an increasingly rigorous selection program designed to identify and develop local talent.

2021 — First notable performances at national level

After years of sustained work at the grassroots level, the club's efforts began to bear fruit at the highest level: Baschet Petras's junior teams achieved their first remarkable results in national competitions. This was the moment when athletes trained within the club proved that its training methods and consistent investment in children and juniors could produce real performance — not just locally, but in competition against the country's strongest academies. These results confirmed the club's strategic direction and drove the further expansion of its training programs.

2024 — Consolidation of the performance academy

Baschet Petras entered a new stage of maturity: the club's performance academy was strengthened through a modernized training program aligned with current standards in youth basketball. More advanced physical and technical-tactical training methods were introduced, along with greater focus on tracking each athlete's individual progress and a clearer progression structure between age groups. This stage reflects the club's ambition to become a regional benchmark in developing basketball players prepared both for junior-level performance and for a possible step up to senior basketball.
